The Tib Bar Pro

The Tib Bar Pro simplifies protecting yourself against ankle injuries, shin splints, and knee pain. With the rise of Knees Over Toes Training, you’ve likely become aware of a muscle called the Tibialis Anterior.

The Tibialis Anterior

If you’re not aware, the Tibialis Anterior is a muscle that runs along the outside of your shin from just underneath the knee to front of the ankle.

The Tibialis Anterior is under trained in most people, yourself included. When this muscle is undertrained, you’re more susceptible to injuries such as rolled/sprained ankles, shin splints, and knee pain like patellar tendinitis.

While training the Tibialis Anterior can be done with bodyweight tib raises, you’ll quickly surpass the point where you see return from that training and need to load your tibs.

How to use the solo tib bar | The Tib Bar Guy
The Tib Bar Pro makes this easy to do, allowing you to fit 2” olympic weight plates and rubber bumper plates to find the level of weight that will allow you to train your tibs to significantly increase your resistance to injuries to your ankles, shins, and knees.

The Solo Tib Bar

The solo tib bar can be an alternative to, or an addition to, The Tib Bar Pro. The Solo Tib Bar will help train the exact same muscles as the Tib Bar Pro, with one caveat: you’ll decrease your risk of injury by decreasing the strength imbalance between the sides of your body.

I personally prefer having both of them because you can load up the solo tib bar with much more weight to create greater overall strength adaptations, then use the Solo Tib Bar to ensure there are minor differences between sides of your body.

The Nordic Back Extension Machine

Another One of the movements that you’ve likely heard a lot about thanks to the rise of Knees Over TOes Training, are Nordics. The Nordic Hamstring exercise is an exercise proven to significantly reduce hamstring injuries in trained populations of athletes.

In one study, soccer athletes reduced their hamstring injury rate by 51% using nordics! Not only that, nordics will help you increase your speed all while helping you reduce your hamstring injury rate.

The Nordic hamstring machine provides a safe and comfortable environment to safely progress towards a full nordic.

The machine not only provides a soft cushion for your knees, and soft padding to hold your legs down in place, it also offers a plate to place your feet on which reduces the likelihood of pulling your hamstring or calf during the exercise.

As if a nordic machine wasn’t valuable enough on its own, this nordic machine also doubles as a 45 degree back extension machine!

45 degree back extensions are extremely valuable for developing hamstring strength as well as reducing low back pain.

45 degree back extensions will increase the strength of your low back while also giving you a gradual reduction in pain.

You can also use the 45 degree back extension to perform a movement like QL raises.

This movement is especially helpful at addressing back pain that only shows up on one side. And it’s a movement that trains side flexion and rotation, a component that’s likely missing in your training and can be a contributing factor to why you’re experiencing one sided back pain.

The Slant Ramps

Did you know that a 2003 study from Memphis found that performing a traditional squat without allowing your knees to travel past your toes increased the torque on the hips by around 1000%?

This study also found that restricting the knees from going over the toes led to significantly more pressure to the spine and surrounding muscles.

Luckily the Knees Over Toes myth has been being busted in mainstream fitness for many years now, and you likely are aware that squatting with your knees over your toes is beneficial AND safe.

The Slant Ramps| ATG Equipment

The Slant Ramps allow you to elevate your heels during a squat and make it simple for you to achieve full knee bend while minimizing the stress on your spine.

So with

The Slant Ramps not only do you significantly decrease your chances of a hip or back injury, you also increase the resiliency of your knees while increasing the strength of your quads.

These Slant Ramps make developing resilient, healthy knees simple while also keeping the rest of your body safe from harm.

The Slant Board

Another tool you’re likely familiar with is The Slant Board. The Slant Board is a sturdier alternative to the Slant Ramps. Whereas the Slant Ramps elevate your heels individually to help you strengthen your quads and patellar tendon with squats, the Slant Board can be used to elevate both heels simultaneously.

The board is also helpful with developing more flexible calves and hamstrings through the Jefferson Curl, as well as adding more range of motion to traditional calf exercises which will lead to greater protection against calf injuries.

Reverse Squat Strap

One of the most criminally under trained areas on your body is your hip flexors.

Your hip flexors help to pick your knee up as you walk, jog, and sprint. They also contribute to maintaining upright posture. If you’re like most people these days, you spend a large portion of your day sitting. You also probably don’t sprint that much at your top speed.

Reverse Squat Strap | ATG Equipment

Once you do this, your hip flexors tend to shorten and stiffen, growing weak in the process. This can cause different sorts of compensations, including contributing to low back pain.

The reverse squat strap allows you to load your hip flexors, train them through a large range of motion, and allow you to increase both their strength and flexibility. This can lead to more flexible hamstrings, greater speed, and a decrease in low back pain/tightness.
